Ground Granulated Blast furnace Slag (GGBS) is a cement substitute, manufactured from a by-product of the iron-making industry. Using one ton of GGBS in concrete reduces the embodied CO₂ by around 850kg, compared to using one ton of Portland Cement, and also increases its durability. GGBS is more sustainable than other cement substitutes such as Fly Ash.
Ground Granulated Blast-furnace Slag (GGBS) is a by-product from Blast-furnaces used to make iron. It can also be referred to as “GGBFS” or “Slag Cement”.
The production of cement account for the greatest share of carbon dioxide (7%). We have developed an eco-friendly solution to use supplementary GGBS, thereby requiring less cement.
